Canadian Opera Volunteer Committee - Fundraising Events
Since the early 1970's, special projects have been a fundraising feature of the COVC. Highlights of earlier years include a cocktail party and fashion show for 3,000 guests at an exclusive Bridle Path home, a dinner preview for the opening of the CN Tower, and an exlusive Yves St. Laurent Fur Collection launch at Holt Renfrew. More recently, there have been theatre previews, trips to the Shaw Festival, the popular Harbourfront Cruise during the International Fireworks Competitions and the ever popular Sunday afternoon concerts in members' homes, featuring singers from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music, Opera Division.
This season, the COVC has been engaged in the following fundraising initiatives:
